Sabir Hussain loses appeal over jail sentence

A teacher who was filmed hitting children in a West Yorkshire mosque has lost an appeal over his jail term.

Sabir Hussain, 60, of Spencer Street, Keighley, was jailed for 10 weeks in November after admitting four charges of assaulting boys at the Markazi Jamia Mosque in Keighley.

He was arrested after the footage was shown by Channel 4's Dispatches.
A judge at Bradford Crown court said the case was too serious to be dealt with by a fine or community service.
